here i'll share some of the filipino legends that i know!
this legend is about why humans have diffent skin color.
when god decided to make man he made a man-figure out of clay and baked him in the oven. he left it in the oven and he became over-cooked. god wanted it to be just right so he made another one. this time he became very cautious with him so he became under-cooked. god tried again and had his first two humans help him. this time he baked it in the right amount of temperature and the right amonut of time. and so it came out just right. thus there came the different colors of man. the dark, the fair, and the white.

^lol!
here's another one that i know: how the pineapple came to be
a long time ago there was a lazy girl named pina. one day, her mother got sick and told her to cook lugaw (rice porriage). pina: i'd love to cook lugaw for you but i can't find the pot. mother: then look for it by the sink. pina found the pot. pina: how could i cook lugaw if there isn't any rice? mother: i bought plenty of rice the other day. look for it. mother became frustrated with pina and told her that she doesn't want to eat. she would take her medicine instead. pina: how can i get you your medicine if i don't know where it is. mother got really frustrated with her and scolded her. pina went outside. outside, pina saw an enchantress. enchantress: because you are too lazy too look for anything, i will give you plenty of eyes. the enchantress made her into a pineapple. end

lol! okay, change subject. there's also a Filipino myth about bananas but i don't remember it so i'm gonna share a different myth. this one's about Philippine cows and carabaos.
cows in the Philippines have such baggy/loose skins while carabaos have very tight skin despite that they are bigger than cows.
here goes! a long time ago a farmer had a cow and a carabao. he always told the two not to bathe in the pond near their farm. one day the farmer went away and the carabao and the cow decided to break the rules and take a bath in the pond. they took of their skins and soaked at the pond wondering why their owner forbid them to go there. the farmer came back home earlier than the two expected. when they heard the farmer calling for them, they hurriedly got out of the pond and dressed. in their haste they didn't noticed that they wore the wrong skin. the carabao's wearing the cow's skin while the cow's wearing the carabao's. they were never able to take them off.

the pond was magic and i think that was it's effect. that's why the farmer didn't want them to go in it.
